Beavers chew past Columbus

COLUMBUS JUNCTION — The Wildcat football team was blanked by the Wilton Beavers Friday, 44-0.

“I was proud of our team fight in the second half,” Columbus head coach Tyler Kibbe said.

Jeff Hoback was 9 of 13 passing for 50 yards and an interception while Columbus teammate Will Schwab had 13 carries for 71 yards. Tucker Bright made three catches 26 yards and Mason Hodges caught four passes for 15 yards.

Bryan Miranda had four solo tackles including one for loss and Wildcats teammate Tucker Bright had eight solo stops and two assisted.

Columbus is 1-8 and plays at Wapello Friday.
