Bulldogs defeat Wildcats

MEDIAPOLIS — Columbus fell to Mediapolis in a road Class 1A District 5 high school football game Friday, 69-6.

“We have to learn how to play unselfish fundamental football,” Columbus head coach Tyler Kibbe said.

Wildcats quarterbacks Jeff Hoback and Tucker Bright went a combined 6 for 16 for 89 yards. Bright caught a touchdown pass from Hoback for 22 yards. Bright was also the leading rusher with eight carries for eight yards. Mason Hodges had 14 yards on three carries.

Bright was also the leading tackler, making eight solo stops.

Columbus is 1-6 overall and 0-2 in the district with a game at Sigourney-Keota Friday.
