The Southeast Iowa Super Conference released its All-Conference teams for both the North and South Divisions last week and Union coverage area athletes were all over the list. WACO senior Nik Coble won South Division Player of the Year, WACO coach Paul Kissell won South Division Coach of the Year and Pekin coach John Swanson won North Division Coach of the Year.
The Union coverage area had 11 players named to their respective first teams and 11 players make their respective second teams. Each SEISC squad had two players named to the honorable mention list.
Coble finished in the top five in the South Division in almost every category, and led the team in all five major categories. He finished the year with 14.6 points per game, 305 rebounds, 114 assists, 62 steals and 41 blocekd shots.
Joining Coble on the South Division first team were teammate Drew Kissell, New London’s Grant Swanson and Blaise Porter and Cardinal’s Griffin Greiner among others.
The Union area had six North Division players make the first team. Pekin’s Brady Millikin and Kennan Winn, Highland’s Zach Lasek and Mason McFarland, Hillcrest Academy’s Eli Ours and Columbus’ Eric Valdez all graced the first team.
Winfield-Mt. Union led the area with three second-teamers. The trifecta of Wolves was joined on the North Division second team by Pekin’s Brayden Sobaski, Highland’s Cole Adamson and Hillcrest Acamdmy’s Kobe Borntrager.
WACO had two more players on the South Division second team. The Warriror duo of Pietro Vannini and Gabe Reichenbach were joined by Cardinal’s Landon Becker, Van Buren County’s Tony Davidson and New London’s Kade Benjamin.
