LONE TREE — Highland won a Southeast Iowa Super Conference boys basketball game Tuesday 58-54 and kept Lone Tree winless. The Highland girls lost after trailing at the end of each quarter, 7-4, 19-15, 36-28 and 48-37 was the final.
Dani Laughlin had 20 points for the Huskies and Jenna Sands six. Emma Soukup, Katelyn Waters and Abbi Stransky had two points apiece.
The Huskies (2-5) started the boys game with a 16-6 lead after a quarter, led 28-21 at the half and 49-34 after three, but were outscored 20-9 in the last quarter.
Tristan Stokes scored 15 points, Chase Schultz 12 and Connor Grinstead 10 in the win. Trevor McFarland and Stokes each had eight rebounds. Stokes had seven steals and four assists.
