Huskies take 2

Highland won an SEISC North Division home game Thursday over Louisa-Muscatine 11-0, then beat the visitors from Lone Tree Friday 13-1.

Chase Schultz threw all five innings in the L-M win with a single hit allowed, two walks and eight strikeouts. Trey Lasek led the way at the plate with a 4 for 4 performance. Cael Yeggy went 3 for 3 with a double.

Highland had lost at Lone Tree 14-4 Tuesday but returned the favor as Jacob leonard went 3 for 3 with a double.

Dan Burton threw 3 2/3 innings for the win with only one hit, no walks and eight strikeouts. Zane Arnold tossed the final 1 1/3 innings with two hits, two walks and two strikeouts.

Highland (6-5) hosts Pekin today.

Highland 14, Lone Tree 4

The Huskies (9-6) won the SEISC North Division softball game Friday at home.

Abbie Miller, Dani Laughlin, Emily Yahnke, Sarah Schneider, Jenna Sands and Mackenze Hora all had two hits apiece. Miller connected on a triple. Yahnke and Sands each had a double.

Grace Batcheller got the win with four innings pitched, three runs allowed, four hits and seven walks. Jessica Kraus threw two innings with one hit and two walks.

Highland plays host to Pekin today.
