Keota hosted English Valleys and Iowa Mennonite at Lagos Acres Monday. The hosts edged EV 179-182 while IMS didn’t have a team score.
In a River Valley Conference dual golf meet with Wilton at the Wahkonsa Golf Club Monday, Mid-Prairie lost 170-181.
“We were looking forward to a rematch since Wilton got us by a stroke last Tuesday at Wahkonsa in the Wildcat Invitational,” MP coach Kelby Bender said. “Unfortunately we didn’t play as well as we would have liked and Wilton played well on their home course. We didn’t play terrible, just not as good as we have been. Chipping and putting was a weakness as the greens were hard and fast. We couldn’t get many to stop close to the pin and had a few three putts. It seemed like each golfer had a couple double bogeys that we had been fortunate enough to stay away from. This team will regroup and respond. We will learn from this, work on things in practice and improve.”
Chaz Patterson led the way for MP with a 44. Noah Schlabaugh and Monte Slabaugh each shot a 45. Ryan Smit rounded out the scoring with a 47.
Mid-Prairie plays today at the West Liberty Invitational.
Luke Hammen and Branden Hyman each carded a 43 for Keota while Chase Kindred posted a 46 and Drew Sieren a 47.
Trevor Layden shot a 47 while IMS teammates London Schrock and Cole Roth each carded a 56.
