Maddie Nonnenmann of Mid-Prairie High School was recognized by the River Valley Conference when it released its selections for all-conference after the 2019-20 season.

Nonnenmann, a 6-foot sophomore, was chosen for the All-South Division team.

Cascade and West Branch, each of which qualified for the state tournament, and Monticello combined to place six of the 10 players on the league’s Elite Team.

Nonnenmann led Mid-Prairie in points per game at 11.6. She made 84-of-177 field goal attempts, a percentage of 47.5. She went 11-of-34 from behind the 3-point line, a percentage of 32.4. She converted 29-of-44 free throws, a 65.9 percentage.

Nonnenmann grabbed 93 rebounds this year, 26 offensive and 67 defensive. She dished 28 assists and took 25 steals.

Her average of 11.6 points per game was sixth in the RVC South Division. Her rebounds per game of 5.2 was 13th.

Nonnenmann missed four games late in the season with an injury, but returned in the final game to lead the Golden Hawks with 10 points that included 2-of-3 shooting from beyond the 3-point line. She also went 2-of-2 on free throws, had three rebounds, two assists and a steal.

In the game when she sustained her injury, Nonnenmann had outscored Washington on its home court at one point. With 2 minutes, 3 seconds remaining in the third quarter, she had 24 points and Washington had 22.

“The threes are something she has added to her game and her offense was a big boost for us,” Mid-Prairie head coach Danny Hershberger said after that game. “We struggled when she wasn’t out there. I am so proud of the way she competed.”
