No. 1 North Scott knocks out Mt. Pleasant

ELDRIDGE — The Mt. Pleasant girls basketball team saw its season come to an end, as well as its four-game winning streak in Saturday night’s regional semifinal at No. 1 North Scott. The top-ranked Lancers knocked out the Panthers 68-33.

Mt. Pleasant’s offense was stifled in the first half. NortH Scott led 23-5 at the end of the first quarter and 42-6 at halftime.

The Panthers faired much better in the second half. The Panthers out scred the Lancers by one point in the final two quarters, winning the second half 27-26.

Tristian Shull led Mt. Pleasant with nine points and co-led the team with two steals. Kenna Lamm had six points. Andrea Lopreato and Emma Rugg scored four apiece.

Sydni Coleman nad Isabel Ashton had three points each in the loss. Lydia Stewart ended the night with two points and two assists. Emma Huckabone had two points. Kate Schimmelpfennig didn’t score but co-led the squad with two steals.

Mt. Pleasant finished the year at 8-15. The Panthers went 5-5 in the Southeast Conference, picking up over half their wins in league play.

North Scott moved on to play No. 11 Keokuk in the regional final on Tuesday night. That game will be back in Eldridge.
