Mid-Prairie High School’s baseball team upped its record to 17-11 with two more wins this week.
The Golden Hawks got a 7-5 nonconference home win over Wapello Tuesday and a 13-2 River Valley Conference road win at North Cedar Wednesday.
Mid-Prairie got a home run from Aidan Rath and one from Vinny Bowlin in the road win. Keegan Gingerich went 3 for 3 in that game and pitched three innings for the win. Brad Tornow tossed two innings. They combined for eight strikeouts and three walks with three hits. Cale Robertson and Tornow had two hits apiece.
Against Wapello, six of the seven runs were scored in the fourth inning. Mid-Prairie was the recipient of seven walks in the game.
Robertson went 2 for 3.
Kayden Reinier hurled four innings for the Hawks with six hits, four runs, two earned, two walks and four strikeouts. Brayden Gingerich threw three innings with three hits, an unearned run, three walks and two strikeouts.
Mid-Prairie starts the Class 2A postseason at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Wellman with a District 4 semifinal against the winner of Durant (12-11) and West Liberty (10-14).
