Trojans fall short of state

PELLA — Fairfield’s boys team finished 11th at the state-qualifying cross-country meet and the girls were 13th.

Malena Bloomquist was the top Trojan finisher placing 27th. Alex Forrest was 31st.

The top three teams and top 15 individuals advance to state.

Paityn Noe of Ballard won the girls race in 17: minutes, 5.62 seconds. Tony Schmitz of Pella had a winning time of 16:33.70.
