FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield volleyball team closed out its regular season schedule on Saturday with their home tournament. The Trojans went 0-3, falling in three sets to Davis County and getting swept by West Burlington and Centerville.
Fairfield’s only three-setter of the day turned into a 21-11, 9-21, 15-8 loss against Davis County. Grace Stever had four kills in loss. Lily Hoskins had six assists and a service ace, and Olivia McClaran finished with seven digs.
The Trojans struggled against West Burlington. Fairfield lost the first set 21-9 and the second set 21-14.
The Trojans only tallied six kills in the lost to WB. Carly Ferrel led the way with three. Erica Bochmann had two, and Anna Dunlap finished with one.
Hoskins’ six assists paced the way for Fairfield against WB. McClaran finished with five digs and two service aces.
The Trojans had back-to-back nail-biters against Centerville. The Big Reds were able to pull out both, taking the first game 22-20, and the second 21-18.
Chloe Stever had four kills in the loss to Centerville. Grace had three kills and seven assists. Hoskins had two kills, and dished out nine assists.
The Fairfield defense was led by McClaran, who finished with nine digs. Hoskins had eight digs as well.
Fairfield finished their regular season 7-26. The Trojans went 4-6 in conferene play, counting the tournament.
The Trojans will hit the road to take on Mt. Pleasant in their first round regional game on Wednesday, Oct. 23. That game will begin at 7 p.m.
