KEOSAUQUA — It may be an almost all-new lineup for the Van Buren County girls basketball team, but on Tuesday night, the Warriors picked up right where they left off last season. VBC blasted Danville 58-22 in its Southeast Iowa Super Conference South Division opener.
The Warriors goose egged the Bears in the first quarter, leading 14-0 after the first eight minutes. VBC led 30-10 at halftime and 46-18 after three quarters
Isabel Manning led the way with 17 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and four steals. Lexi Jirak had 13 points and eight rebounds. Zoe Best and Kalyn Tuttle scored seven points apiece. Kadence Nausbaum finished with six points and four steals. Shea Scott had four points. Jaelyn Boley went for two points and seven rebounds, and Ivy Davidson tallied two points of her own.
VBC is now 1-0 on the year. They’ll host Central Lee on Monday.
