COLUMBUS — Winfield-Mt. Union swept Columbus in a battle of Union Area Coverage teams on Friday night. The Lady Wolves won 48-17, and the W-MU boys took the second game of the doubleheader 52-37.
Jami Wilkerson led the Wolves with 14 points in the win. Farrah Nelson had 10 points and 14 rebounds. Jobey Malone and Kyndal Townsley scored six points apiece. Keely Malone scored four. Keetyn Townsley and Bradie Buffington had three each, and Molly Miller scored two.
Columbus was led by Lizbeth Paz, who scored eight points in the loss. Taylor Howell scored three. Emma Milder and Victoria Howell had two each. Olivia Carrier finished with one points and eight rebounds, and Michelle Diaz scored one.
Christian Gerot scored 18 points and led W-MU with five steals. Daunte Oepping had 11 points and seven assists.. Jared Arnold had six points and nine rebounds. Ty Yocum and Juanito Piper scored six apiece. Bryce Wade had three points, and Dawson Bergthold scored two.
The Columbus boys were led by Marco Martinez, who finished with 10 points and five assists. Bawi UK had nine. Mason Hodges scored eight. Jaime Villegas scored five. Owen Watson had three points and seven rebounds,, and Gustavo Anaya had two points.
