WACO girls fall at home

WAYLAND — To say the WACO girls had their hands full on Monday night would be an understatement. The Warriors welcomed in a red-hot No. 11 (1A) Notre Dame team in a Southeast Iowa Super Conference South Division game. The Nikes rolled 70-26, for their ninth win in a row.

Notre Dame scored in double digits in every quarter. The Nikes held a 16-7 lead at the first horn, took a 33-11 advantage into halftime and scored 24 in the third to take a commanding 57-19 lead into the fourth quarter.

WACO’s Ellah Kissell scored eight points in the loss. Morgan Graber had six. Aubri Garsney had five. Katie Leichty finished with three. Lindsey Roth and Grace Coble scored two points apiece, and Lela Fort had one.
