Boys wrestling earns narrow victory

The anniversary event ran from 4-6:30 p.m. at the theater, Tuesday, Jan. 20 with behind-the-scenes tours, raffles and appetizers and drinks. The evening connected the new with the history of the Washington Community Center with the presence of Jan Gallagher and Teresa Peterson, who performed in the original production staged when the building opened, and the introduction of Theater Manager and Technical Director Mark Fischer.

Demons propelled by big first half

Jacylyn Zieglowsky took ownership of the salon at 125 North Iowa Ave. after working under the leadership of former owner Kelsey Billups at The Avenue Salon & Spa. Zieglowsky renamed the business Crown & Co. Salon, a title she chose to showcase what she says matters most: faith, confidence, warmth and the belief that people carry more than a haircut when they walk out the door.

On McCreedy Drive, a small wooden pantry painted with a big promise has become a daily stop for neighbors looking for groceries, hygiene items or just a reminder that someone in town sees them.
