A barn near Wellman caught fire Saturday night and burned to the ground. No injuries were reported. The barn was located at 1555 180th St., about four miles south of Wellman. The Washington City Council approved a bid Wednesday from Cornerstone Excavating of Washington to demolish the collapsed buildings on South Marion Avenue. The bid was for approximately $156,000. Keota was devastated by a fire last December that consumed the former lumberyard and two brick structures.
