According to the unofficial results released by the Jefferson County Auditor’s Office on Tuesday, Nov. 5, voters in the school district cast 4,102 votes in favor (57.95 percent) of the bond and 2,976 votes against it (42.05 percent). Though the “yes” side won a majority of the votes, it needed to cross the 60 percent threshold required for bonds, so the measure failed.

She purchased the business in 2015 when it was known as Dottie’s Sewing Nook, where she had been an employee since 2002.

Rosie Witherspoon opened At Home Store on the west side of the Fairfield square in 2002. She was inspired to try something new because her kids were grown, and her father had passed away, leaving her a cabin he had built. Witherspoon liked the idea of turning the structure into a shop and marketing it as a “cabin in the woods,” where customers would come to purchase beeswax candles, Irish pottery and things that other stores wouldn’t have.
