Just north of Keosauqua sits a row of cabins overlooking the Des Moines River. The development, along Robert Park Road, consists of 32 cabins that are mostly second homes for people who live there in the summer. That was the case for former Fairfield residents Bob and Bonnie Reighard, too, when they purchased their cabin in 2017. But the couple found that they were more comfortable in their new second home, and decided to spruce it up and move there permanently in 2019.

South 32nd Street has seen a flurry of new home construction in recent years. Among the most recent additions to the neighborhood is the home owned by Mike and Jill Lane, who moved in May of 2023. The couple had been living on a gravel road between Batavia and Libertyville, but wanted to be closer to town so their daughters, Maya and Iris, would have a shorter drive to school.
