Police are stepping up enforcement of Washington’s municipal parking codes, as officers implement an initiative to pay more attention to the issue on their patrols. It’s a shift in philosophy for the city’s police department, which previously issued parking citations mostly in response to complaints, rather than seeking out offenders.
